In Clash Royale, players are ranked by their level, trophies, and arena. The maximum level is thirteen, obtained by getting much more experience from donating or leveling up cards. There are eleven arenas (excluding training camp) in total, with every arena having a particular trophy limit.

A player wins a battle by destroying more towers than the opponent, or by destroying the opponent's "King's Tower", which grants an automatic three "crown" victory.

Players battle through 11 arenas (excluding Training Camp), each requiring a certain amount of trophies. The 11 Arenas are Goblin Stadium, Bone Pit, Barbarian Bowl, P.E.K.K.A's Playhouse, Spell Valley, Builder's Workshop, Royal Arena, Frozen Peak, Jungle Arena, Hog Mountain and Legendary Arena.

Cards

At the start of every game, both players are given a "hand" of four cards from a "deck" of eight cards selected by the player. There are 73 cards in the game currently. Cards come in four rarities : Common, Uncommon, Epic and Legendary. Cards can be used to attack and defend. To play the cards, the player should have sufficient "elixir", one elixir automatically becoming replenished each 2.eight seconds (each 1.4 seconds during 'Double Elixir', during the last 60 seconds of the game). Once a card is placed, a new card from the deck is drawn to the hand.

Currency

As a free-to-play game, Clash Royale offers players the ability to purchase "gems" in the card shop using currency. "Gems" can be used to begin tournaments, enter challenges, and buy chests, cards, and gold from the shop.

Chests

When a player wins a multiplayer battle, they will acquire a "chest", which requires a certain amount of time to open depending on the rarity of the chest. Chests take a particular quantity of time to unlock: Silver Chests take 3 hours to unlock, Golden Chests take eight hours, Giant, Magical and Epic Chests take 12 hours, while Super Magical and Legendary Chests take 24 hours. Gems might be used to speed up unlocking or can be used to purchase a chest. Chests include cards and gold, and free chests and crown chests will also contain gems. Various levels of chests contain various numbers or types of cards. When the player has a particular number of a troop's cards, they can upgrade it, utilizing gold, to increase its statistics. A player can hold a maximum of 4 chests at one time to open up chest slots, a chest will require to be opened.[7] Free chests are also given to the player as soon as every 4 hours, and only two of these can be stored. Each 24 hours, the player also has the chance to win a Crown Chest by claiming ten "crowns" from battle victories. A Clan Chest appears from Friday midnight to Monday midnight (time varies for various countries). There are ten stages to it, with each stage growing the reward. Crown chests are only permitted to be stacked twice. Each the Free Chests and Crown Chests can be unlocked immediately.

Clans Gameplay of the Clan Battles Gamemode a 4 individual clan vs. clan gamemode.

From level one, players can type and join clans. Clan members may engage in "friendly battles" with one an additional, the outcome of which does not impact trophies or chests but does nevertheless, contribute to the 'practice with friends' achievement. The "friendly battle" function allows for live spectating from other clanmates. Clan members may also donate or request cards from one another starting from level 3. Joining a clan enables you to take component in "Clan Chest" (where you earn crowns with your clan) and "Clan Battles"(where you battle against an additional clan with your clanmate) These two clan-bonding activities are alternate.
