KLAW has evolved the Marine2, a brand new marine breakaway coupling. The Marine2 is 32% shorter and 25% lighter than alternative marine breakaway couplings on the market and is also meant to reduce stress on hoses utilized on offshore hose reel applications. The shorter design is able to reduce coil disruption about the hose reel, while alternative designs which can be longer can increase hose stress and fatigue.

The klaw breakaway couplings provides a safe parting point inside hose transfer system in ship-to-ship, ship-to-shore and vessel to offshore platform transfers. The coupling is made to activate for unexpected expenses for example vessel drift in stormy conditions or pressure surge. When activated, the valves inside coupling shuts both upstream and downstream flow within the hose transfer system and allows immediate separation from the line.

The KLAW Marine2 is designed to minimize the risk of spill minimizing the risk of harm to assets, damage to personnel, extended downtime and contamination of the environment.

Like its KLAW predecessor, the Marine2 was created to resist those bending moments and torsional forces expected from floating wave motions and also the rigors with the marine environment and reacts just to those axial forces that happen in a crisis. The Marine2 also is constantly utilize KLAW Flip-Flap Valve system for immediate closure.

KLAW Easy Reset Facility is additionally fitted as standard about the Marine2 meaning the coupling can be serviced or reset after activation inside line to help expand reduce downtime and force on the hose as a result of reduced requirement of additional handling.

The KLAW Marine2 will come in standard nominal bore sizes of 2in, 3in, 4in, 5in and 6in and it is compatible with soft walled, hard walled, and composite hoses. A number of end connections can be purchased including NPT and BSP threaded, flange connections, and hammer union fittings.
