An achromatic lens or Achromat is a lens that is created for the purpose of restricting the effects of lens(chromatic and spherical) aberration. Achromatic lenses have been adjusted to bring two wavelengths to concentrate in precisely the exact same plane.

What's a chromatic aberration?

Chromatic aberration, also Called chromatic distortion and spherochromatism, is an effect caused from dispersion due to the failure of a lens to focus all colors to the identical convergence point.
